- Backing up your data is your responsibility. Work closely with your IT support to ensure that this is done and that your data can be quickly restored.
- DCM uses an SQL database that your IT people can automate the backup of. It is usually located in Drive\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\....\Data but this can vary.
- Ensure the folder \DirectCONTROLServerFiles and its subfolders are included in your backup.
- Utilities - Backup Database can be used to carry out a backup at any time if you have permission. The \DirectCONTROLServerFiles folder is not included in this backup. However, it is best if your IT people automate this. Set the backup file location in Utilities - Configure

We recommend backing up to the Server in the first instance for quick access should you need to restore, and then automate the task to copy this backup to external medium daily, weekly and monthly.
