Data security and client confidentiality are of paramount importance in any business and measures must be taken to ensure that controls and processes are in place and documented well. No systems, no processes and you have no control.
DCM utilises two types of security plus a third, if exporting to your accounting application. DC also integrates with Active Directory.
DC records the Windows user and the DC user. This then is referenced in the DC Audit throughout the application ... WindowsUser(Workstation) - DCUser
Familiarise yourself with the levels of security available and know what roles you will be allocating to your personnel.
DCM has eight built in User Roles. You can add others ... Adding a New Role
Master is for a user who manages User Roles Only.
Administrator is top level having access to all functions
Supervisor can access all but Utilities - Configure and User Roles
User Level 1 is for a Standard Clerical User
User Level 2 restricts users from Contact Management, many tasks and Reports
User Level 3 as per User Level 2 but also restricts from viewing Client Communications. They can, however, create new communications using the 'Quick Print' feature.
Entity is used ONLY by Entities/Providers to restrict access to other Entity data (appointments, transactions, communications, report, Medicare Processing).
