As DCM accommodates the needs of all medical disciplines, there are regular updates.

Should a DCM Client request a new feature, we endeavour to implement this as soon as possible and release an Update. This update may be released to all or just some.

DCM software updates are not to be confused with Fee Updates – Direct CONTROL Medical (DCM)

Check Online for Updates needs to be enabled per Device. This is located in Utilities - Configure - General

If a DCM software update has been released to you and Check Online for Updates is enabled, on next launching DCM there will be the prompt

DCM Software Update Guide

This guide explains how to update Direct Control Medical (DCM) using the built-in update prompt.

Launch Application

• Launch Direct CONTROL Medical (DCM)
• When prompted with an update notification, click Update Now

• A confirmation prompt will appear

• Click Yes to continue.

Download Update

DCM will begin downloading the update automatically.

If HL7 Service is installed:

• The HL7 service update will run first
• This must be performed on the server
• A Windows Admin permission prompt may appear
• Accept the prompt to proceed

• Select Yes to continue
• A prompt will appear to confirm the HL7 service update.

Installation

Once HL7 update (if applicable) is completed:

• DCM will close automatically
• The installation wizard will appear

• Select Yes to continue
• Select I accept the agreement

• Select Next

• Select Install

Important:

After clicking the Install button, if any instance of DCM is currently running on the server, a prompt will appear.

Direct Control application is running. Clicking OK will close all Direct Control application instances and continue with the update process.

• Ensure all users are notified before proceeding, as their DCM sessions will be closed.
• Select OK to continue.

Post Installation

After installation:

• DCM will relaunch automatically

• The system will attempt to run database scripts (if required)

Once completed:

• A success message will appear at the bottom of the login screen
• The Take CONTROL button to login will be enabled
• Uses can log in normally

Notes

• Ensure the update is performed on the server first if HL7 service is enabled
• Admin rights may be required during the update process
• Do not interrupt the update once started
