- Referrers/Surgeons can be migrated from other programmes
- A Referrer/Surgeon has only one record in DCM. Should they have multiple Locations/Provider Numbers, these details are recorded in this one record. There is a Merge Duplicates function, that merges any Referrers/Surgeons with many records using their Provider stem
- Can also just merge a selected Provider

Adding a Referrer/Surgeon
A new Referrer/Surgeon is normally added from either the Appointment form or Client Record - Referrers and Associates at time of adding a new Referral.
- Select Add on the sidebar of the Referrers and Associates section. This results in a new line being created and the cursor having focus in the Referred By: field
- Commence typing the Referrers Lastname and if this exists in the database, it will be listed for you to select
- If not listed, select the [+] to add the new Referrer and enter the relevant detail
- DC has the functionality to search online Provider Directories

- Providers can have one or many Locations/Provider Numbers each requiring a Valid Provider Number. DCM warns if a Provider Number is not valid. The Provider Number must be eight characters and consist of:
- Six numbers known as the STEM
- Two additional characters be the combination of a number and a letter or two letters
Tip: If the Provider Number has only seven characters, add a zero as the first number.
- Should a Provider cease working at a Location, they are flagged as Inactive
- Select Report on the sidebar of the Referrer/Surgeon form to view all the referrals and associated transactions for that Referrer.
